Vapor/Liquid Detection System

The Model X76VS Vapor and Liquid Level Detection System continuously monitors underground storage tank installations for leakage of gasoline, diesel oil, waste oil and other hydrocarbons.

The system is designed to sense liquid accumulation or vapor in double- or single-wall tanks.

Two types of Liquid Level Sensors may be positioned horizontally or vertically in the normally dry annular space of double-walled tanks. A reservoir level type is also available where the annular space is water and/or brine-filled and the loss of water and/or brine is detected when a leak occurs. A precision pressure switch assembly is available to sense pressure drop due to a leak in the pressurized annular space.

The Vapor Sensors monitor vadose and ground water wells, drilled around the perimeter of single-wall tanks, or the annular space of double-wall tanks.

The sensor抯 outputs are continuously supervised by the appropriate individual alarm modules via approved intrinsically safe barriers. This allows installation of the sensors in Class I, Division 1, Groups B, C or D areas as defined in the National Electric Code, without using costly conduits, conduit seals and explosion proof junction boxes.

The X76VS provides space for up to 6 or 12 level or vapor sensor alarms modules, an auxiliary contact module with a contact output for each input and a display modules which allows selective measurement of the level and setting of the trip point on each vapor module.
